![]() I am pushing the game and myself to its limits as i start the process all over again. I then get a moment of reprieve where I get to play the game and try the thing im actually here for for about 1 minute before something goes wrong cause its an autoscroller where you cant see too far ahead but it is a moment of peace. I launch out of the portal in the secret warp room and hop into the level Totally Bear or as i like to call it the calm before the storm. The aesthetic manages to find the perfect blend of refreshing and badass following the river levels from the previous game, and the jet board. The game loads the loadscreen before i can then Load my savegame. I then wait for the intro credits, skip crash's flying animation and then skip the title card as I move from NEW GAME to LOAD GAME. Optimizing my menuing as i pull up the Retroarche menu, go down to reset content, and hitting x on my playstation 4 controller. This is the peak of videogame challenges. In 3 they added relics for time trials for all stages so putting those in 2 and 1 via achievements is fine. The gem is pretty much the equivalent to an in game achievement which is why there are unique ones like the timed ones, the special paths, and the color ones. A deathless run that sends you back to the beginning upon death with the achievements in 2 particular being an ok compromise since the relics werent put in til 3.Īs for other sets that do this well thats a whole other thing I could go into but ill leave it at that it seems that every set ends up having deathless or damageless achievements rather than more flavorful or fun things and so when i look at a set i just know that every boss will have a damageless one which means you get hit and have to manually reset the level or boss since theres no reset button like in this game. They behave the same as the fish from the previous game. Mechanical fish appear in Hang Eight, Air Crash and Plant Food. They appear in Upstream and Up the Creek, and can be defeated by spinning. And while the games are easier i say yea they were supposed to be easier which is where the timetrials/relics come into play. In Crash Bandicoot, fish are colorful and jump in and out of the river in an arc, damaging Crash when touched. I would say considering there is already something in the game that encourages a deathless playstyle, that being the skull platforms, that ALL gems being deathless is redundant to those specific ones existing.
